Can a touchscreen racer actually feel good? Yes, with caveats

I used to dismiss mobile racers on principle. Steering with tilt made me seasick and steering with buttons felt mushy. Then Neon Drift Circuit came along and reminded me that the problem was design, not the format.

The trick is building the whole game around what touchscreens do well. Drifting, not precision braking, is the core here, and holding a drift through a corner is a forgiving, satisfying input that suits a thumb perfectly. The game isn't asking for millimeter accuracy, so it never feels like you're fighting the controls.

My tip if you try it: ignore tilt steering entirely and use the touch buttons, then spend time in the first few cups just learning when to let go of a drift. Once that timing becomes instinct, the whole thing opens up.
